Young Brothers Youth Council

The Young Brothers Youth Council of Washtenaw County My Brother’s Keeper (WMBK) is an empowerment opportunity aiming to directly impact boys and young men of color through tailored curriculum, mentorship, community, and new experiences. The Young Brothers Youth Council utilizes mentorship and a near-peer model to provide young high school men of color a safe space to learn and grow together with men of color at the collegiate level.

Given that collegiate participants have a wide range of educational backgrounds, high school students are given a figurative mirror, and can potentially see themselves in various professions as they are mentioned towards completing post-secondary education and training. College men of color facilitate learning through character and career training, service, events, and provide high school youth with support towards academic and future economic success.
